ABOUT US.

WHO WE ARE.

OUR STORY.

We met in 2016 at a WOW: Women in Tech day, sharing our work with Secondary female identifying students to inspire the next generation of digital makers.

Two teachers in discussion surrounded by STEM devices created by girls and non-binary students.

Having both experienced the effects of being in predominantly male spaces when working with technology we decided to develop a programme combining our passions of dance and computing together to share our knowledge and inspire the next generation of female identifying and non-binary makers.

MOVE AND CODE is not only what we do but it is a passion we both deeply believe in. We will only stop when young female and non-binary identifying people are able to contribute fully and see themselves in all digital spaces, creating gender parity in the industry.

SU ADAMS.

As a computing curriculum specialist, I love challenging the norms and culture of computing education. By combining experience gained in both the IT industry and education with creative experience, I design and deliver workshops that inspire learners to make interactive computer-controlled builds that exist off-screen, in the real world.  In addition to enthusing pupils and students, I empower teachers through teacher training both nationally and internationally specialising in physical computing and encouraging girls into computing.

I also regularly consult for the Micro:bit Educational Foundation and freelance for the National Centre for Computing Eductation (NCCE) as a PD Creator/Facilitator and Primary Lead, and volunteer as a STEM Ambassador for STEM Learning.

REBECCA EVANS.

I am a contemporary dance choreographer and the creative director of the digital dance company Pell Ensemble since 2012.  As part of this, I have delivered digital dance performances, installations and engagement work in the UK & abroad.

My work uses interactive and immersive technologies combined with dance to engage audiences and communities in both the making and performance process.  I am passionate about inspiring young female and non-binary makers to build the skills they need to innovate for the future.

DIGITAL IS A BIG PART OF OUR WORLD & OUR FUTURE.

I'M EXCITED TO INSPIRE MORE FEMALE AND NONBINARY IDENTIFYING STUDENTS TO HAVE A CREATIVE VOICE IN MAKING, CHALLENGING AND CHANGING WHAT THAT FUTURE COULD LOOK LIKE.
